Doula Services Include:

Consultation
It is recommended that you meet with at least 3 doulas so that you can choose the one you are most comfortable with. Most Certified Doulas use similar techniques and have similar knowledge regardless how many years they have had experience. So the important thing to look for is how you feel with the doula. If you don’t feel comfortable today, you really won’t when you are in labor. I am not a competitive doula. I look out for YOUR best interests. And for that reason if I feel someone else would be better suited for you, I will make that recommendation. Your birth and happiness is what is important to me.
This 1 hour consultation will help us get to know each other a little bit and give you and your partner an opportunity to ask any birth or doula questions. I will also learn what your birth preferences are and what you are looking for in you doula.

1st Prenatal Visit
The visits vary from person to person depending on what their needs are. These are the basics, however. I will have already learned from the consultation areas where some additional information might be needed to provide to you. I will provide educational/informational materials starting from this point forward.  These materials will explain alternative non-medicinal ways to go through labor and birth. And also they will give you up to date information as to the correct statistics of obstetrical interventions and there effects. We will begin work on your Birth Preferences Plan .  I will also go over some valuable breathing/positioning techniques for you to start incorporating into your daily routine.

2nd Prenatal Visit
This visit is our Practice Session together. We will go over relaxation techniques and also finalize your Birth Preference Plan. I also do some basic Breastfeeding education.

24 hour Support
From the moment of hire, you can reach me through phone, text, or email with any questions or concerns that you have. I return all calls and emails in a timely manner.

Massage Session
You receive 1 massage session as part of your prenatal care. If you are only getting one massage I recommend it to be used when you are in early labor. Having a massage at that time can set the stage properly for the work ahead.

ChildBirth Classes
If you are attending an out of hospital childbirth class ( which  I do highly recommend) , I am available to attend those classes with you and your partner if you so choose. I feel it helps in our bonding process and really helps put us on the same page for the day to come.

Labor and Delivery
I will provide support to you and your family at whatever location and time that you want me to. Some like to labor as long as possible at home (highly recommended especially for hospital births) . I will be by your side for the whole duration of labor and birth providing non- medicinal pain relief options and being your advocate so that your wishes are respected. Also especially necessary in a hospital setting, if issues arise I will make sure that you have all the information you need to make a informed decision for yourself and baby.
Please Note: I also have a Labor T.E.N.S unit that is available for your use

Postpartum
I will stay with you as long as you want me to be there. This is bonding time for your new family so I will not intrude. If you would like me to stay in the background until you get moved to the postpartum room I would be happy to do so. Otherwise after birth and assisting with initial latch-on I will leave about an hour or so later. Remember I am your servant so I can take pictures for all of you and keep a birth record of the day if you so request.

1st Postpartum Visit
This visit will either be over the phone or I will return to visit you before leaving the hospital. The purpose of this visit is to see if I can assist you with any referrals to other birth professionals and to see how you are adjusting.

Please Note: I am still available 24 hours a day for phone, text, and email support. Sometimes the additional support is needed during this transitional phase. Please do not be afraid to use it. That is what I am here for!

2nd Postpartum Visit
2 weeks after your birth I will come visit you in your home. This visit will last at least an hour or two. We will go over your Birth Story, discuss any of your concerns, and I will answer any questions you may have. I will also do a preliminary Postpartum Depression screening.


Postpartum Massage Session
With specific techniques, massage can help the body get back into its pre-pregnancy condition. I will provide 1 postpartum session using these techniques.

The Child Bearing Year
You will be continually going through changes emotionally and physically for the rest of the 12 months. For this reason I feel it is beneficial to remain your support. You can contact me anytime with questions, concerns, or for referrals. Massage will also be offered at a discounted rate to you.

12 month Visit
As your childbearing year comes to an end, let us celebrate together!  We can go to lunch or do something fun out of the house and catch up with each other. I will see if there is anything else I can assist you with for your upcoming year.

Doula Service Package Rate: $650.00
